Eleven years today

Dear Dad,

There is no way to express how much I miss you. I see you in the strangest places, and in the most unexpected moments I think of you. I am 39 now, you have been gone eleven years. I have two little kids and two older ones also. I think you would be proud of me, Vanessa and Linnea. Linnea continues to make the farm more and more amazing. Last year, she restored the stone wall and put in a slate pool. Vanessa has a beautiful baby boy in still lives in NYC with her husband. She has been accepted to grad school in the fall, I don't know how she will do it all. I guess Mom taught her how. I live in Mexico now and am very happy here, I think of Catica often. I went to visit Dicki in Tarrytown a few months ago, she is still alive but doesn't remember who I am or who anyone is...

Life will never be the same without you. You are my Dad.

Love, Bekke

Crab Races and Spring Equinox

Late post again...
This is a mish mash of a few events we attended. We went to the crab races at a local beach where our good friend Kathy lives. It was really fun and followed by a dance and dinner. The kids had such a good time they fell asleep on chaise lounges by the pool in the moonlight. Also, Ak Lu'um hosted a spring equinox ceremony by the sea and we attended altogether. It was a beautiful ritual all preformed by the kids and was followed by a day of fun at the beach with a potluck. I love Ak Lu'um and all the families that are part of our little community. Life continues to be a fun and unexpected journey here in Playa...

Love,
Mama

Dede gets a ballet report

Well, there you have it. Dede is a natural dancer, and she has the grades to prove it. She loves every class and I am very proud of her.

NIghtmares

Last night at around three am my baby girl started screaming at the top of her lungs.  She was having a nightmare and it scared the you know what out of me. I crawled into bed with her and fell asleep in her tent, I love her so much and it is so hard when she isn't totally happy. I need to read up on nightmares in kids.

Sunday at the beach club

We spent a very lazy Sunday at the local beach club. Mama even fell asleep in the sun and got a bit of a burn on her back. The kids played allllllll day with their toys and other kids. After, we got ice cream. Couldn't have asked for a more peaceful day. I needed that.

Love,
Mama
